Quran Curriculum 2023

SUGGESTED PREREQUISITES: None

DESCRIPTION: Quran curriculum will take six years from level one to level six to finish memorizing, understanding the general meaning and tafsir of Jus’ Amma.

Students must memorize all surahs of Jus’ 30, “Amma”, including understanding the general meaning of certain verses of each surah.

Learning Quran will help students to develop the feel of Taqwa and follow the rules of Quran and live by it. This should help student to learn the skills needed.

Quran Education Goals
• Teach each student how to read the words of the Quran correctly.
• Help students to memorize small parts of the Quran, and teach them basic skills that they need to be able to memorize and keep their memorization strong in the future.
• Explain the meanings of some of the words of the Quran as well as some Islamic rules that are important for kids to know.

Character-Building and Spirituality Goals
• Help students to love the Quran and make it easy for them to understand.
• Teach students the manners and etiquettes that they need to know at their age.
• Engage students in activities that help them to love the Quran and want to live by its teachings. Learn some moral values of each surah they memorize.

This curriculum is designed to make students memorize Quran with the correct way of pronouncing the letters, the words and develop the skills of Quran Reading

Level 1:
Students should be able to recognize and pronounce the words correctly.

Memorize and understand the concept of all the suwar they are memorizing in this level.

Find at least two moral verses and their concepts in each sura they are memorizing.

Assigned Suwar: Al-Faatiha, An-Nass, Al-Falaq, Al-Iklaas, An-Nasr

Level 2:
• Be able to recognize, pronounce and write letters (in single and joined form) with Fatha, Kasrah and Dammah (short vowels).
• Be able to recognize and read simple words/short sentences with short vowels
• Be able to memorize and understand the concept of the assigned suwar and learn the meaning of some of their words.

Assigned Suwar Al-Kafiroon, Al-Kawthar, Al-Maa’un, Quraish, Al-Fil, Al-Humaza, Al-Asr.

Find at least two moral verses and their concepts in each sura they are memorizing.

Level 3:
• Be able to recognize, pronounce and write letters with Sukoon, Long Vowels, Shaddah and Tanween
• Be able to read long sentences from the Quran, memorize and understand the concept of assigned suwar. Learn the meaning of some of their words.

Assigned Suwar At-Takaathur, Al-Qaari’a, Al-Aladiyaat, Az-Zalzala, Al-Bayyina, Al-Qadr, Al-Alaq, At-Tin, Ash-Sharh, Ad-Dhuhaa

Find at least two moral verses and their concepts in each sura they are memorizing.

Level 4:
• Study the rules of silent letters (Hamzat Al-Wasl. Lam Shamsiyah, etc. stopping rules and signs.
• Be able to read Quran from The Quran.

Memorize the following assigned suwar:
Assigned Suwar: Al-Lail, Ash-Shams, Al-Balad, Al-Fajr, Al-Ghasshiya, Al-A’Alaa, At-Taariq, Al-Burooj

Find at least three moral verses and their concepts in each sura they are memorizing.

Level 5:
• Study Tajweed rules and be able to apply them while reciting.

Memorize and understand the concept of the assigned suwar.
Assigneed Suwar: Al-Inshiqaaq, Al-Mutaffiffin, Al-Infitaar, At-Takwir, Abasa, An-Naazi’aat, An-Naba

Find at least four moral verses and their concepts in each sura they are memorizing.

Level 6:
Study Tajweed rules and be able to apply them while reciting.

Memorize and understand the concept of the assigned suwar:
Assigned Suwar : Al_Mulk, Yaseen, AL-Waqi’a

Find at least five moral verses and their concepts in each sura they are memorizing.

High School Class:
Study Tajweed rules in depth so they will be able to apply them while reciting.

Memorize and understand the concept of the assigned suwar:
Assigned Suwar: Review Jus’ Amma and complete Al_Mulk, Yaseen, AL-Waqi’a

Find at least six moral verses and their concepts in each sura they are memorizing.
